ADMA Forges Innovative Pathways to Manufacture Titanium Alloy Parts
ADMA Products is involved in various aspects in the field of metallurgy including manufacturing, processing, Research & Development, Consulting, Government Contracts, trade and others. The companies employ well-known metallurgists and scientists and possess modern equipment supporting these diversified activities.
ADMA Products, Inc. is a manufacturer of powder metallurgy products from titanium, zirconium, niobium and other advanced materials and alloys that specializes in the manufacture of porous and near full density powder metallurgy parts. They offer extensive expertise in tailoring properties of materials to fit the specific requirements of their customers. Products are made by die-pressing, cold isostatic pressing, direct powder rolling, sintering, coining, re-rolling, high temperature rolling, and other operations. We developed a variety of patented processes for industrial, aircraft, and military applications.
Through the GIPP program ADMA, in partnership with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), worked with the Institute of Metal Physics of NAS, Ukraine, to develop a cost-effective approach to reliably manufacture high quality titanium alloy parts for high-volume commercial applications. Potential uses in automotive, aerospace, and other industries are particularly promising. The final cost for these titanium parts is expected to be competitive with steel components, while titanium exhibits superior performance and weight advantages. The technical experience of former Soviet weapons scientists combined with the technical and commercial know-how of ADMA as a leader in powder manufacturing and lightweight material technology.
ADMA and Ukrainian partners are generating revenues and a U.S.-Ukrainian joint venture is under development. Due to the high success in reducing the cost of manufacturing near finished titanium products under this partnership, ADMA is planning on building a new plant in Ohio to expand capacity. The project can also increase economic opportunities for the Ukrainian partners located in a less developed industrial area. ADMA is organizing a meeting with U.S. defense industry representatives at its plant, which is also causing interest of high level Ukrainian government officials.
